DIY Ugly Christmas Headband

Looking for a last minute accessory for your Christmas party? This ugly DIY Christmas headband is festive, simple to make and comes together in less than an hour! Customize it to complement your ugly Christmas sweater and add other ornaments to suit your style. Check out how easy it was to make so you can make one for yourself!

Supplies needed to make your own DIY Christmas headband:

• Christmas Ball Ornaments (I used two sizes – 2″ balls and 1″ balls)
• Christmas Bells
• Headband
• Hot Glue
• Red Pom Pom
• Scissors
• Flat Nose Pliers

Step 1. Remove the tops of your larger Christmas balls – you can easily pull it off with your hand or you can use a pair of flat nose pliers to remove it if it’s stuck on the top.

Step 2. Align the balls onto your headband to see the placement. I used 2″ balls for mine.  (If you have a plain headband, wrap some festive-colored ribbon to brighten it up!)

Step 3. Carefully attach the balls one at a time, starting from the middle.

Step 4. Make sure to attach the balls to each other by gluing the sides that touch together.

Step 5. Build onto the base with smaller balls – I used complementary gold glitter balls to accent the red and gold ball base. It’s not necessary to remove the tops of the smaller balls as they will be wedged onto the gaps of the bigger balls.

Step 6. Next, attach some bells so your fun DIY Christmas headband makes a sound.

Step 7. Finally, attach any other ornament or accessory you would like to use. To fill the gaps, I used pompoms from a pompom trim but you can use even smaller balls, sparkly leaves or holly. And you’re done!

This headband is easily customizable and is loads of fun! Wear it to your next Christmas gathering – I sure would be wearing mine!
