Star Crown Headband Tutorial

I don’t usually take much time to focus on 4th of July crafts because it sneaks up so fast. But my little girl loves headbands and I thought how fun it would be to make her a DIY star crown one. How fun will this be for 4th of July? But I figured she would probably also wear it anytime of the year.

This DIY star crown headband is such a quick little project that can be made last minute and doesn’t need hot glue or any glue at all. SO if like me, you find the holiday fast approaching, then this can be done the night before. This headband could work for any country and holiday, just change the star colors to coordinate.

Supplies needed to make your own DIY star crown headband:

• Brass Wire
• Plastic Headbands (I ended up spraying mine a light gold, but totally not necessary)
• Foam Sparkly Stickers

Step 1. Cut wire about 6″ long. Attach one star sticker to side of wire.

Step 2. Attach a different star to opposite side of first star. You basically will be sandwiching the wire in between the two stars. Since they are stickers, they will hold the wire in nicely.

Step 3. Now arrange the stars where you want them to go and how high. Save at least 3 inches of wire and start wrapping the bottom of wire around  headband. It will not look pretty, but you won’t be able to see any of this once you put it on your head. Make sure you leave the end of wire on the top of the headband so it doesn’t poke your head.

And that’s it for your DIY star crown headband! You could wrap ribbon around the headband if you want to hide the wires, but I wanted to show you a quick 4th of July craft that would be perfect for the parade or party or just fireworks. Happy 4th of July!
